Ostrich Farm Branding & Monitoring App

Project Background

As part of my media design studies, I was assigned to select an existing farm and create a rebranding concept.
I chose “El HaYa’en Farm” – the last ostrich farm in Israel, which was shut down following the events of October 7th. The farm’s unique story offered a meaningful design challenge and an opportunity for creative depth.

Research, Inspiration & Brand Differentiation

I conducted extensive research into the farm’s activities, audiences, and potential products. Its uniqueness quickly stood out – ostriches and their eggs, an offering unlike any other in Israel.
To shape a strong visual identity, I explored global farm websites, zoo interfaces, Pinterest references, and online imagery, and assembled a detailed mood board. This process helped me define the brand’s visual language and
emotional tone.

Naming, Branding & Digital Design

I named the rebranded farm “Ya’ani Africa”, a playful phrase with two meanings: “of the ostriches” in Hebrew slang, and “like Africa” from the Arabic word “ya’ani”, commonly used in Israeli speech.
The name conveys an exotic African vibe with a distinctly local, humorous twist.
In addition to the visual branding, I designed a promotional landing page and two UI screens for an ostrich monitoring app – a creative blend of agriculture and technology with a smooth, user friendly interface.

Conclusion & Takeaways

This project gave me the opportunity to combine research, creativity, and strategic thinking. Through a compelling story, I crafted a brand that merges content, values, and visual identity – demonstrating how even a small, lesser-known place can become a memorable experience through thoughtful design.
